Honolulu Day 12

Our day has been spent inside, away from the cold rain. The little man and I hung out in the room and caught up on some sleep. We went to the beach a total of four times and each time it would start raining. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a pretty day!

This is what it looked like all day, rainy. Yuck!

The little man was so happy to see his Daddy :)

He took me to eat at Bubba Gump's here in Honolulu. I love this place!! Thanks baby, I know you really didn't want to eat there!!

Me and my baby

Finishing off the rest of the shrimp. The little monkey thought he was going to get a hand out. Funny kid!

Downtown Honolulu at night. You can't see it, but it was raining pretty hard in this pic.

Honolulu Day 11

Well, once again the Hubby's work has requested him to stay for five more days here in Hawaii. So, instead of flying out tonight, we are leaving on Friday night. I kinda have torn feelings at this point. I am very appreciative of getting the opportunity to stay in Oahu for 16 days! On the other hand, I am ready to be back home to see family and friends ( missing you all). I really don't have any good pictures from today. The majority of our day has been spent doing laundry, switching rooms, returning keys, calling family, dealing with Delta and AVIS, getting a new crib, making arrangements for our dogs and unpacking our suitcases. To say I'm tired is an understatement. I am physically and mentally exhausted! However, I am never too exhausted to show you one of my purchases for the little man.

Isn't this bag just adorable? We bought him this cute little monkey backpack from Little People of Hawaii. I thought it was so cute to use as a mini diaper bag. It comes with a story and a name for the monkey. Plus, the monkey is detachable. Ha!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Honolulu Day 10

Tomorrow night we are leaving, flying back home and I sure am going to miss this gorgeous paradise! We tried to get in as much beach and pool time as possible and do some last minute sightseeing before the day was over.

This is a pretty good spot to grab some breakfast. Yum!

These little guys were hanging out in front of the shops in downtown Honolulu

Dusty took this picture. I thought it was breathtaking.

Again. So pretty!

Enjoying the drive around the island!

Honolulu Day 9

Here are pics from our day.

The little monkey was so tired. I thought this was a cute picture of him and his Daddy.

He was amazed at these dancers the whole night. He would just stare at them. He is definitely a little flirt.

We've had so much fun here in Hawaii! Sadly, tomorrow afternoon (tomorrow night back home) we will fly out of Honolulu after 11 beautiful days here on the island of Oahu. Even though I am bummed to leave, I am looking forward to seeing our family and friends back home. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!!

9 Months

I can't believe you are 9 months old!

  • You weigh around 22 lbs
  • We think you are going to be a very tall kid
  • You have learned to crawl on your knees and you love it
  • You have learned to pull up on stuff around the house and I am not ready for you to be walking :)
  • You love Leo the Lion. You can't go to sleep without him
  • You have rhythm. You dance and shake it and just the other day we saw you tapping your hand to the beat of a song.
  • You LOVE bath time
  • You are becoming very vocal these days.
  • You're an excellent little traveler. You have been to Gulf Shores, Orlando and Hawaii and you are such a good boy.
  • You have yet to say Mommy
  • You tug on your ear when you are sleepy and we think it's so cute.
  • You still refuse to hold the sippy cup we bought you
  • You love to eat bananas and avocados
  • Your Mommy and Daddy love you more and more each day :)

Honolulu Day 8

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Although we missed celebrating with our families back home, we enjoyed our Thanksgiving her on the island. Here are pics from our day!

Our Thanksgiving breakfast at Duke's. All you can eat. Yummy!

Hamming it up for the camera. Silly kid :)

Me and my sweet little boy

We couldn't get him to look at us, so this is the best pic we could get. He is still adorable :)

Sightseeing on North Shore.

Chewing on his chopsticks at P.F. Changs.

Tickling my baby. He loves it!

I am so excited about tomorrow. We are going on a sunset dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu. It sounds so romantic and I know we will get some gorgeous pics!

Honolulu Day 7

Well, again we have spent most of our day by the ocean. I am trying to soak in as much sun as possible considering I went a whole year without a tan. Ha! I was all excited for Dusty to get home early today so we could go and play in the ocean together, but it started raining about 30 minutes after he arrived. I didn't think it was a good idea to take the little monkey out in the cold rain, so we went back to the hotel room while Dusty played on the ocean ( he really missed the beach the last two days :) However, I am super excited that he has the next three days off work, so now we can finally go sightseeing some more!

Storm clouds moving in. The water looked so metallic.

He thinks he is a bog boy now. He has learned to stand up in the crib. YIKES!!

Daddy brought home pizza and the little monkey found a new toy, the box :)

Trying to charm Mommy.

While we waited for the rain to stop, the little monkey fell asleep in this odd position. He is just too adorable!

We also want to wish all our family and friends and Happy Thanksgiving. We are so sorry we can't be there to celebrate with you.

Honolulu Day 6

You know the minute I get on here to load pics, the internet is going to slow down to where it would take all night to load one pic. I have some pretty pics, but I will just have to load them tomorrow night. Just to let you in on what we did today. We had a lot of fun today!! We mostly played in the ocean and the little guy had a great time. He is also coming around to his sand bucket that I bought him. He just talks to it and hits it against the sand. We spend the majority of our day either napping or playing in the ocean. Overall, it was a much better day than yesterday!

Update: Internet is working. Pics from the day before and yesterday have been loaded!!

If you ever eat at the ShoreBird, I would suggest ordering this. Yummy :)

He didn't know what to think of our waiter

Beautiful sunset from our beach. This, so far is my favorite pic. It's so warm and calming

Eating at Cha Cha Cha last night. Yummy Mexican!

Honolulu Day 5

Well, last night we came in from dinner and I made the mistake of laying down "for just a minute". I fell asleep with my camera next to me, intending on only lying there for just a minute and then getting up to load pics for the blog post. I was so exhausted yesterday. Dusty had to be at work pretty early yesterday morning and the little guy and I spent most of our day either in the hotel room or shopping. He was really needy yesterday and he just wore me out (mentally). Hopefully, today will be a better day. I am excited about today because we are going to spend the day at the beach and play in the ocean! It's gonna be a great day! Also, we found out yesterday that we will be here an extra three days. I am pretty excited about staying in Hawaii until Sunday, but sad that we are going to miss Thanksgiving with our families. They were very understanding about the situation, but I know it bummed them out that their grandchild was going to miss his first Thanksgiving with the family. I know they understand :)

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to do something different for this post. Instead of pictures, I want to post everything that I am thankful for. I have been seeing people on facebook do this for the last week and I think it's a great idea!!

I Am Thankful For.....

- God. He makes everything possible and continues to bless us in ways I can't explain.

- Church. We have two churches. One back home and one where we live now. We are thankful to have friends and family at both that love us and are always there if we need them.

- My husband. I can't even find the words to type to describe this man. He is everything to me!

- Our sweet baby boy. He is a blessing from Heaven and I can't believe God chose us to raise such an extraordinary child. He is the sweetest little guy and I can't picture my life without him. It's amazing how much love I have for this boy!

- Family. Without them, we would be lost.

- My life. I am just happy to be alive!

- Dusty's job. God blessed us when he gave Dusty his job. He didn't have to bless us the way he did and we are very appreciative of his kindness.
- Our Home. We are thankful to have a place to call home when so many others don't.

- To be an American. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Happy Thanksgiving

Honolulu Day 4

This morning we got up really early to go hiking in Manoa Falls. We were hoping if we got there early enough, it wouldn't be too hot. Sadly, we were wrong and ended up just about dying from the humidity at the top of this mountain ( well, maybe that was just me). However, it was worth it to see such a beautiful waterfall.

2 more miles to go

Beautiful Manoa Falls

My boys during the hike

After a day of laying out on the beach and surfing the Hawaiian waves (just the hubby, not me), we decided to get ready and find some yummy food for dinner.

Waikiki at Sunset

You cooked your own food. I thought this was pretty cool!

Eating at The ShoreBird of Waikiki

What the little guy did during dinner. So precious :)
