11 Month Checkup

Today, was Deacon's 11 month ear & weight checkup. Last month, he lost over a pound due to his RSV and was underweight for his age (Weighed 19.2 before, 17.12 after RSV) and he got a double ear infection after it was all over with. So, we have been working diligently this month, trying to get his weight back to where it should be and we succeeded. He weighs 20.4 lbs! Our pediatrician was very pleased with his weight gain and he is back in the normal weight percentile for his age (makes me feel better). While we were there, I remembered I didn't have any pictures of Deacon with his Pediatrician or the nurse that has been helping us the whole year. So, I decided to snap a few photos of them before we left.

• We go for a weight check tomorrow, but I am guessing you weigh around 21 lbs.
• It's getting harder and harder to take these monthly pics. You are getting real crafty at stealing the paper :)
• You are in to everything.
• You aren't walking yet, but you have been real brave these last few days. You try to walk from the coffee table to the couch, but you're not quit ready. I am hoping you walk before your 1st Birthday.
• You still suck on your fingers and it's so adorable
• You love to crawl around the house really fast and let us chase you
• You discovered the stairs this month. We have to really keep an eye on you because you know when we turn our backs :)
• You love to play Bouncy Baby
• You love to play with your blue ball. You love for me to roll it to you.
• You are now in a big boy car seat and you love it.
• This month you had your first high fever (RSV).
• You are starting to climb on stuff.
• I can't believe the next monthly picture I post will be your 1 year photo. This year has flown by and I can't believe you are almost one.
• We love you so much and couldn't imagine our lives without you.
• You are my sweet angel and you will never know how much love I have for you, but I promise to show you every day what a blessing you are to me. I love you Monkey.

Party Update

I'm having a blast planning for the monkey's birthday party. I got his invitations in the mail the other day and they are super cute!! I can't wait to share them with you, but that will have to wait until after I have mailed them out. I went shopping the other day for a few fabric tablecloths and I ended up getting quit the bargain on some cute yellow ones. Don't you just love when you get something at 80% off? I sure do!! Today after I got back from running some errands, I found that UPS had delivered the package of party favors I ordered for all the kids in our family. I wanted to do something cute and fun, so I did some research on the internet and discovered these little cuties.....





I know there are a couple of the kids in our family that may not be able to chew gum yet, but I figured their parents could help them in that department! Ha! Hope you guys like Dubble Bubble Gum :) I just thought these were so cute. If you wanna check them out, go here.

Everywhere & Everything

Today, the little monkey and I stayed home to catch up on some housework that I have been putting off for way too long. I feel so accomplished! I got all the laundry washed and I cleaned out the little man's closet. I filled two big boxes full of clothes that he has outgrown (they grow so quickly) and reorganized all the drawers. So now his closet and changing table look so neat and organized (hoping it stays that way for longer than a day). The little guy had a great day. He woke up in the best little mood this morning and has been so playful all day. He has kept me on my feet the majority of the day. He just goes from one thing to the next. Let's just say he is getting into everything and squeezing into places he shouldn't be.

Yesterday, the little monkey and I went back home to visit my Mom ( Granny ). We had so much fun eating lunch and hanging out with her and Aunt Lanette. Here are a few pictures from our lunch date with Granny.

I'm so excited about all the party planning. So far, I have everything together except for the food and his birthday cake. Last night, I finished up designing his birthday invitation in Photoshop, which turned out way cuter than I expected. I will share it with you when I have mailed the invitations out to family and friends. I'm just having so much fun ( I love planning parties). Well, it's back to laundry :)

Date Night!

I was so excited last night that the hubby and I got a chance to go on a date! Denay (Hubby's sister) and her husband came over to babysit the little monkey while we went to the movies. Before we left, we caught him dancing to a song on Matthew's phone. Sometimes, he is so hilarious!

What a Cutie

Some of you might think I am an awful parent for taking pictures of this, but I must point out that the outlet has been baby proofed and that he was being supervised the whole time. They were just too cute not to share.

If you are wondering why he is shirtless, he refused to let me put him in a onesie. Could we be just a bit stubborn? He didn't get it from me (hehehe).

Baby Proofing

Today, the little monkey and I went to Lowes to purchase some baby proofing items and I think he is going to love playing with tools when he gets older. Every time I would go near the tools, he would reach out of the buggy and start grunting like a cave man. Obviously, he was very interested in what was on the shelves. I don't know if he was intrigued by how shiny they were or that he saw other men looking at them. Either way, we may be purchasing him a toddler tool set one of these days :)

Just Hanging Around

Today has been an exhausting day for the hubby and I. We went back to our hometowns for the weekend to visit family and to go to our dentist appointment early this morning. There is something about driving 75 miles back home, on a Monday morning, that is just so tiring :) Anyway, when we got home the little monkey went down for a nap and I decided to take this perfect opportunity and start planning his 1st birthday party. Some family and friends have ask what the theme will be and the answer should come as no surprise....

Aren't these cupcakes the cutest? I found them online and I am going to try and make them for the party. I already have someone lined up to make him the cutest little monkey cake, but I've decided that I'm going to give these a try :) The cupcakes I made for our Halloween party didn't turn out the way I had planned so hopefully these will be better. I am so excited about planning his party, but also a bit sad. I just can't believe my sweet little angel will turn a year old next month. This year has flown by and I just can't believe his birthday is already here! I will keep you posted on the birthday planning :)

Anyway, here is my picture for the day. The little monkey doing something he shouldn't be, playing with the television. We are currently trying to discourage this type of behavior, but so far he hasn't figured out we don't want him pulling on the t.v. I just had to get a pic because he looked so cute :)

He discovered the open bag of yogurt melts sitting on the coffee table (opps). He thought it was funny that he'd made such a big mess on his play mat.

I ♥ Snow

We had so much fun today! It started snowing about 9:00 this morning and it's still going! We decided to take the little guy outside to play in his first snow. I'm pretty sure he wasn't phased by it one bit, but I sure had fun :) I haven't seen a really good snow since I was a little girl and I loved it! Here are pics from our afternoon.
